Getting Started

Sign In & Account

  • Apple Sign In not working? Confirm you're on an iPhone running iOS 17 or later and that Apple Sign In is enabled in Settings → Apple ID → Password & Security.
  • Can't access my account? Try signing out and back in with Apple Sign In. Your data is tied to your Apple ID.

Creating Your First Family

  • How do I create a family? Go to the Family tab and tap "Create Family". You'll receive a unique invite code to share.
  • What's a family code? A short code (e.g., Y00KQQ) that others use to join your family and access shared recipes and meal plans.

Family Sharing

Joining a Family

  • Have a code? Use a link like https://mealrhythm.app/f/YOURCODE or enter the code directly in the Family tab.
  • Link opens Safari instead of the app? Copy the code and paste it into the app's Family tab, or use the deep link: mealrhythm://join?code=YOURCODE.
  • Can I be in multiple families? Not at the same time. You can leave your current family and join another whenever you want.

Family Features (Premium)

  • Need premium? Family Sharing with real-time sync requires a premium subscription. Tap "Family Sharing" in Settings to subscribe via Apple In-App Purchase.
  • Already subscribed but not working? Tap "Restore Purchases" in Settings → Premium to verify your subscription.
  • Cancel subscription? Manage your subscription in iOS Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → MealRhythm.

Recipes & Photos

  • How do I add recipes? Tap the Recipes tab → + button. Add a title, cooking time, and photo.
  • Photo not uploading? Check that you've granted MealRhythm photo access in iOS Settings → Privacy → Photos.
  • Recipe privacy? Toggle "Family" to share with your family, or keep it private for personal use only.
  • Can I edit or delete recipes? Yes! Swipe left on a recipe to delete, or tap it to edit details.

Meal Planning & Calendar

  • How do I plan meals? Go to Schedule tab → + button → Select a recipe and choose the date/time.
  • Switch between views? Tap the calendar or list icon in the top right to toggle between calendar and list views.
  • Edit or remove meals? Tap a scheduled meal to edit or swipe left to delete.
  • Meals not syncing with family? Make sure you have an active premium subscription and are connected to the internet.

AI Suggestions

  • What are suggestions? AI-powered meal recommendations based on your cooking history. Look for badges like "Never cooked before" or "Often eaten on this day".
  • Not seeing suggestions? Log a few meals first! Suggestions improve as you use the app.
  • How to use a suggestion? Tap "Cook This" on any suggested recipe to add it to your schedule.

Notifications & Settings

  • Enable notifications? Go to iOS Settings → MealRhythm → Notifications and enable alerts.
  • Dark mode? Available in Settings → Theme. Choose Light, Dark, or System.
  • App Lock? Enable Face ID/Touch ID protection in Settings → App Lock for extra privacy.

Troubleshooting

  1. App crashing or freezing? Force close the app (swipe up from the bottom) and reopen it. If the issue persists, restart your device.
  2. Data not syncing? Check your internet connection. Go to Settings → Restore Purchases to refresh your subscription status.
  3. Update the app: Always use the latest version from the App Store for bug fixes and new features.
  4. Clear app cache: If you're experiencing issues, try signing out and signing back in (your data is saved on our servers).
  5. Reinstall as last resort: Delete and reinstall the app. Sign in with the same Apple ID to restore your data.
